Samara Kurtz

Participating in CaliUnite has been a standout highlight of Samara’s Calisthenics journey so far. Her strong results in Solo and Graceful sections added to the experience, making it both rewarding and fun. In 2025, Samara is looking forward to working with talented coaches and performers in the ACTC Ensemble, expanding her skills and embracing the theatrical aspects of Calisthenics. She’s particularly excited about travelling, learning contemporary, jazz, and other new dance styles, and meeting her idol Briar from 'The Next Step' at the ACTC Epic Workshop. Being part of the ACTC documentary is also a big thrill for Samara.

Samara dreams of becoming a Dance Physiotherapist, combining her love for dance and helping others. She is inspired by her Calisthenics friends, older performers, and her coach Amy Marinov, who supports her to be her best self. Briar is another role model, giving her goals to strive for in both dance and pursuing a career.

Her favorite foods include sushi, chocolate, her dad’s South African braai (BBQ meat), her mum’s curries, and treats from Maccas and Taco Bell—she’s a true foodie who loves it all!

Outside of Calisthenics, Samara enjoys playing netball, participating in athletics, shopping with friends, playing the cello, and spending time with her family. She loves watching 'The Next Step' and reading Maddie Ziegler’s 'The Audition' series.
