This weekend, the Australian Calisthenics community witnessed something special in SA, and it was brought to us by the newly-formed Australian Calisthenics Theatre Company. A Symphony was a stage spectacular, a homage to the uniquely exceptional sport and art form that is Calisthenics, and it was also a statement to calisthenics community: we can build it and they will come.

Sounding out the end of June was a unique experience for all lovers of theatre, dance and everything in between. “A Symphony” is the latest showcase from SA performance outfit the Australian Calisthenics Theatre Company. Their show promised to dazzle its audience with a showstopping blend of contemporary dance, calisthenics skill and visual artistry. And indeed, they delivered on every front.

The Australian Calisthenics Theatre Company have produced a breathtaking show that sees a fusion of artistry and athleticism. This two-hour extravaganza is performed to an impressive soundtrack, played live by a sensational band under the musical direction of Kym Purling.
